Can’t wait for Philly? When will the collegiate contest draw be?

Looks great. Will be watching the webcast from Brisbane, Australia. Wondering what the song of the contest will be?

Is that Richard Reeve from Australia?

The draw for the International Collegiate Barbershop Quartet Contest will be Monday, June 7. It’s going to be a great contest this year!

Will the CBQC draw also be tweeted?

I thought Wheelhouse was competing this year???

No Wheelhouse is Done. . . They teased earlier this year but they are finished. Rich Gray is another Quartet (Touchstone – I believe) and the other 3 have formed Mad Men. Mad Men are on facebook. I miss them also !!!

Looks like a great list of quartets. Best wishes go to my Ontario District quartets. I know that all quartets will serve their districts well. Welcome to our overseas visitors.

Wow Three Ontario quartets and almost 4 if you guys need another wildcat…come on Old School how many golds do you need. Give the other guys a chance. Good luck to all competitors..Go Canada…Go Ontario district….Show ‘em how, Chameleon, the Sting, and Common Interest.
B#jym

Two of them would be happy with their first…

Agree, Joe K and Jack P, would/should be thrilled I am quite sure…

FAST TRACK!! GO EVERGREEN!! Best of Luck to Mike, Don, Adrian, and Donny

I really like the Home page for BHS since it was given a makeover. The two videos on YouTube are excellent!! The Chorus presentation of 76 Trombones (taken from “The Music Man”) was fantastic!!! Keep up the good work.

I’m pulling for My Cardinal District brothers! Forefront, 65 South, and Heatwave!

IF OLD SCHOOL REALLY WANTS TO SHOW THAT THEY WANT TO WIN, THEN WHY DON’T THE 2 NON GOLD MEDAL WINNERS FIND THE 2 OTHER VOICE PARTS, AND STOP USING PAST GOLD MEDAL SINGERS. ESPECIALLY A 3 TIME, AND 2 TIME WINNER.

Stuart, this may come as a surprise, but lots of people who win International actually ENJOY competing. I know, it sounds far-fetched, but it’s true. I’m tired of people suggesting that past champs shouldn’t compete anymore. Can you imagine the same attitude in sports? Sorry, Tom Brady, you already won the Super Bowl…go find something else to do.

Old School is a great quartet, and has every right to be up there with everybody else. Don’t belittle the talent and achievements of “the two non gold medal winners” in the quartet. They are singing with the best of the best…because they are awesome. If they weren’t, they wouldn’t be where they are right now. Joe Krones would probably have his gold if Cheers! had stayed together. Oh, but I guess that wouldn’t count, because there was a gold medalist in Cheers! too.

So Stuart, I say turn your challenge around. Storm Front, Allies, Ringmasters and everybody else…if you want to show that you’re the best, you need to show that you can beat the best.

Here’s wishing all the competitors the best of luck in Philly!

I was at the CSD spring convention, and I will be pulling for High Definition to have a strong showing this year. Their bass, Adam, will be leaving the quartet after the contest to go to medical school. They’re an awesome quartet, and a great 4 guys to meet. All 3 of the CSD quartets should perform well and represent us well!

I’ll never understand people’s problems with previous winners competing in new quartets. The system put in place by the BHS regarding quartets competing is perfect. It allows us to see greats like Tony DeRosa and Jeff Oxley in their element more than just once, and it produces a phenomenal show with tough competition and higher levels of singing. It’s not like quartets are winning, then coming back the next year with a different tenor and winning again. Each winning quartet is different than the quartet that won the year before. Crossroads deserved their gold medal last year just as much as Vocal Spectrum did. Not allowing previous winners to compete would be detrimental to the BHS.

I’m pulling for High Definition also!!

They’re a wonderful quartet, and all of the guys are class acts. With Adam leaving, it’ll be a somewhat sad to hear them perform. But it’ll be a great show.

Can you send me a map of the convention center.
Thanks
George

Good luck to “Breakout”. You were awesome in the SLD contest, and I know you are going to do your best to make SLD proud!

NEXT TO GOSPEL SONGS, BARBERSHOP IS A CLOSE SECOND. I HAVE BEEN THRILLED ALREADY, AND THERE ARE STILL MORE CHORUSES AND QUARTETS TO GO.HOW THAT CLOSE HARMONY CAUSES ME TO BE VERY EMOTIONAL.
